Barry Evans

Barry, we should know this... but what do you do here? I'm Head of Copy.
We knew it was something like that. How long has Whitewater enjoyed your considerable talents? I joined in September '02. Gosh has it really been that long?.
What did you do before Whitewater? I worked in pharmaceutical advertising for many years until overcome by nausea. Ran the NSPCC's DM for eight years, then set up a similar operation from scratch for the YMCA National Council.
In 1990 I was suborned by WWAV Rapp Collins to become their only full-time charity writer. Subsequently Group Head with a vast range of big hitter charity clients.
What has been your most memorable moment here? Lecturing Client Services on the necessity of looking after creative work, then leaving the presentation on a train.
Hah! Good one. Share you philosophy with us: 1) Philosophy seeks to interpret the world, but our function is to change it. 2) When something works (like the above quotation) it is the moral duty of the professional communicator to rip it off.
And what do you do when you're not writing world-class copy?: Birdwatch, amateur theatrics, watch aged sports cars rust, grow old disgracefully, listen to the kind of jazz young women can't stand.
Barry, it's been a pleasure. Thanks. Get back to work.
